Physical: 6’3 200lb RHP/1B ran an 8.00 laser timed 60-yard dash. Solid physical size with room for strength to be added. Still figuring out how to use his large frame efficiently to create maximum production.
Offensively: Starts in a simple stance with a short load of the hands. Drives down through the ball and showed some ability to keep hands strong through contact.
Defensively: Keeps his movements simple when approaching the ball. Showed off an aggressive throwing motion.
Pitching: From a very upright and straight legged position, his windup is slow and controlled. As he stride out his momentum follows through and allows his aggressive arm swing to fire through. Still more in his tank with incorporation of lower half more.
6-foot-2, 180-pound freshman sat 73-75 from a a high 3/4 arm slot, working solely out of the stretch. Repeats his balanced delivery with some natural cut to his fastball. Curveball at 63-66 showed two-plane depth with 11/5 rotation. Also showed a feel for his changeup with some cut action at 64-66. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing from a high elbow load with a lift-and-replace stride. Some wrap leads to length in the swing. Registered a bat exit velocity of 73 mph and ran an 8.00 60-yard dash. Displayed developing defensive skills around the bag at first base with accurate 64 mph arm strength across the diamond.
