Physical: Strong, projectable 6-foot-3, 185lb frame with two way abilities popping. 7.54 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, traditional setup at shoulder-width while the hands show rhythm above the shoulder. Utilized a short toe tap stride to initiate the bat head through a flat path with weight shift into a stiff front side at impact. Consistently leveraged approach at the front of the plate allowing for a whippy, on time barrel to the pull-side (5-6 hole) for base hits. Posted a T89 mph bat-exit velocity with room for more, adding a solid 36% line drive rate/313 foot batted ball distance per Trackman. Able to slide into a middle of the order role as he matures with confidence in the box.
Defensively: The third baseman started low postured with pre-swing rhythm in the feet. Lengthy, smooth operation with range in either direction; featured simple mechanics and repeated pace across the diamond from a fluid, high ¾ slot (79 mph arm, accurate). Arrived with down chest angles and the glove hand picked it well working down/up in the technique. Should be able to handle either corner IF position at the next level.
Pitching: RHP - Began off the middle of the mound, short side rocker with a shuffle into a high leg lift at the stack; got down over the front side well creating slight down tilt into the strike zone on a commanded 79-81 mph FB (14 inches IVB, 63% zone rate) and added a sharp downer 68-70 mph CB (11/5 shape, -14 inches of IVB via Trackman). Knows how to pitch and threw both with consistent arm-speed.
6-foot, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a leg-lift stride. Some lower half glide limits some power potential, but showcased a feel for the barrel. Registered a bat exit velocity of 76 mph and ran an 8.44 60-yard dash. Displayed capable defensive actions with accurate 73 mph arm strength across the diamond defensively. The righty sat 73-75 off the mound from a high 3/4 arm slot with a side rocker step to begin. Curveball has above average depth with tight 11/5 rotation at 64-67. Changeup is still a work in progress with command issues on this day at 68-70.
