Physical: Powerful, yet athletic frame (6-2, 195lbs) flashing freakish measurables in all categories at the PA State Games. 6.91 runner in the 60-yard dash, starting off hot.
Offensively: RHH - Began in a bent, even stance at a crouched position as the hands showed loosely at the shoulder. Utilized a controlled lift and replace stride in order to initiate the bat head through a flat path into the hitting zone. Medium/high finish on the back side and good bat control on pitches in any quadrant; handled the inner half with authority, depositing multiple balls deep off the LF wall for extra-bases. Connected, smooth approach and didn’t try to do too much, still seeing power numbers skyrocket on Blast Motion: 78 mph bat speed, 25 mph hand speed, etc. Recorded a peak of 96 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The primary shortstop looked clean with solid footwork, always on the move and an early glove presentation at an attacking position. Soft actions and handled the come and get it play. The rising Senior could stick at either of the left side infield positions moving forward with carrying arm strength from high-¾ (86 mph, accurate).
Pitching: RHP - Starts off the left side of the rubber with a short side rocker into a balanced stack position at waist height; hip coil. Unloads with downhill rotation into a good lead leg block, effectively transferring energy through the pitch. The arm worked through a power high ¾ slot with some downhill play into the zone; FB worked 83-84 mph at the knees with carry to the glove (18+ inches average IVB). Mixed a short, late 72-73 mph SL and average 76-77 mph CH. Two-way abilities stand out with more coming on the velocity end of things.
