Physical: Checks all the boxes in an athletic, 6-foot, 190lb frame with a strong lower half. 6.42 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Quiet, shoulder-width start, as the hands begin loosely in a good position to hit. Utilized a short lift and replace stride to initiate a flat, adjustable path through the zone towards a one-handed finish. Very balanced in the swing showing high, tight turns on the ball. Good contact in-game action, posted a 99 mph bat-exit velocity / 383 foot distance combo as well during BP. Look for Griess to garner plenty of interest come #MLBDraft time this summer.
Defensively: The primary outfielder displays centerfield qualities with an elite first step and natural reads on the ball. Rounds downhill with a smooth glove-hand playing off of his left side on the approach. Accurate 86 mph arm strength to the plate from an OTT slot. Will comfortably handle a CF/LF role.
