5-foot-10, 180-pound switch hitter starts from a slightly open stance from the left side and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride while creating backspin. 5-foot-9, 165-pound switch hitter showed advanced abilities from both sides of the plate. Collecting two hits today out of the 5-hole as the team's DH, the #37 player in the 2020 class exhibited the skills that make him an intriguing uncommitted prospect. A switch-hitter, Rodriguez worked solely from the left side in this one, finishing the day with an RBI double to the left-center gap and a single to right field to kick off a final frame comeback that never happened. Rodriguez is balanced at the plate. There is some lift in his swing as he looks to drive balls gap-to-gap. The hands are loose and fluid, helping to generate bat speed. An average athletic build on the 5-foot-9 frame, Rodriguez showcased the skills on offense. Looking forward to catching him in action moving forward when he's out on the field defensively.
