Physical: Strong, projectable 6-foot-2, 185lb build. 7.82 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Slightly open, crouched stance, as the hands start high to begin. Utilized a short leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through a flat, direct path towards a whippy finish. Taller posture in the box, extending the barrel often for a T90 mph exit velocity. Rolled the wrists at times to the pull-side, but did damage in space, up to a 297 foot distance (46% barrel rate).
Defensively: The primary backstop featured adequate feel for the pocket, alternating right-knee down position and traditional stances. Pop times ranged between 2.02-2.07 with clean straight-line footwork and a fast trigger from a H ¾ slot (78 mph). Carried the ball to the bag.
Physical: Longer, projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 180lbs with athleticism. 7.32 runner in the 60.
Offensively: Narrow, balanced stance that gets into the lower half at the start. Utilized a big leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through a slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Recorded a middle of the field to pull-side approach with lift present, up to a 90 mph bat-exit velocity (333 feet). Carried quality bat to ball skills over to game action with line drive approach, barreling two extra-base hits.
Defensively: The backstop demonstrates likeable traits in the crouch, showing off natural pocket awareness from traditional. Pop times ranged between 1.92-1.97 at 79 mph out of the hand (H ¾ slot, good carry). Has a chance to be effective in catch/throw.
Pitching: RHP - The righty begins from the stretch-only. Holds the line well down the mound and blocks off properly. Longer extension at release, landing FB's at 79-81 mph. Mixed sweeping 67-70 mph SL back across the plate.
Physical: 6-foot-2, 180 pounds; Broad shouldered, athletic build. 7.47 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; upright bat position. Drops hands on the way back with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a one-handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 88 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with a compact setup; utilizing a traditional primary position while staying low during receiving. Hands are soft while staying low during transfer. Short take back from a high 3/4 arm slot. 1.97-2.04 pop times. C - 80 MPH.
Physical: Durable, strong 6-foot-1, 180lb frame. 7.79 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Open, slightly bent stance as the hands began higher by the head. Utilized a big up/down leg-lift to initiate the barrel through a slightly uphill, whippy path into the hitting zone. Generated some weight shift into a stiff front-side with a connected, pull-side approach and a 50% line drive rate (via Trackman). Found success getting leveraged at impact, en route to a 307 foot batted ball distance to the LCF gap and recorded a T87 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak.
Defensively: The primary backstop featured a soft glove hand, receiving from a left knee down operation. Pop times ranged from 2.08-2.11 with quick hands and ability to turn hips/shoulders in-line towards the target in sequence. Released fluidly from a shorter H ¾ slot up to 71 mph on the bag.
Physical: 5-foot-11, 175LBS. 8.43 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Narrow, open stance. Begins tall and stays tall throughout the swing. Keeps weight on the back side during a leg hang, which works back towards the pitcher. Hands works back to get into a strong load position. Negative vertical bat angle at impact. Looks to launch the baseball.
Defensively: Primary C. Weight begins on heels. Will see improvements of athleticism in the crouch with a transfer of weight onto the balls of feet. Pre-catch momentum gathered into the exchange. Creates efficient backspin on throws. As body matures and throwing velocity increases, ball will see good carry to bag.
Pitching: Works strictly out of the stretch. Hands begin and stay at the belt line up too glove break. Deliberately slow leg lift to belt line. Slightly sinks into the rear leg and he works in a straight line down the mound. On glove break the arm works back and maintains slight end in the elbow. Releases from a high 3/4 arm slot. FB worked 74 - 77MPH. Paired with a CB and CH.
Defensively, there is some glove hand drift in framing. Blocking skills are developing in young player. There is commitment to staying square and presenting soft wall. Throwing motion is long at this time.
Offensively, swing is initiated from neutral set up with stride staying neutral. Bat is held deep in top hand. There is solid balance, rhythm and launch position demonstrated. Weight shift is adequate but is followed by passive hip turn. Hands work well to baseball. Overall, very young athlete flashes signs of developing into an above average offensive player.
On the mound, young, developing pitcher worked out of mid 3/4 arm slot showing ability to repeat delivery with short arm action. FB sat 57-58 mph. CH was thrown at 44 mph with subtle fade.
