Physical: Proportional, 5-foot-8, 165lb frame with some strength. 8.16 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even, narrow stance inside shoulder-width, as the hands operated above the shoulder in rhythm. Utilized a leg-kick stride to initiate a flat, direct barrel path into the hitting zone. Recorded a T91 mph bat-exit velocity with simple, repeatable actions at the plate; sprayed hard contact around the field and hit behind front side. Offense trending upwards.
Defensively: The backstop has always been a solid defender. Traditional set up behind the dish and works with a soft glove hand with pocket awareness at the catch. Pop times ranged from 2.16-2.22 up to 71 mph from the crouch. Blocked well with down angles and good reads out of the hand.
5-foot-6, 135-pound right-handed hitter starts from a wide, square stance and initiates his swing with a leg lift stride. Showcased a direct swing path with a solid lower half and a feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 74 mph. The freshman backstop showcased sound fundamentals behind the dish with pop times of 2.38-2.43 and developing 63 mph arm strength out of the crouch.
