7/16/15 Murphy is a 5-9, 155 pound prospect from a very solid Roman Catholic High School program. The middle infield prospect ran a 7.84 in the 60-yard dash. Offensively, the second baseman is a switch hitter who shows similar swings from both sides of the plate. He hits with rhythm and makes contact from both sides. He singled up the middle on a 91 mile-per-hour fastball in the game portion of the event.

Defensively, his arm strength is not there yet but he showed excellent fundamentals and approach to fielding a ground ball. He displayed proper foot work and throwing mechanics and with dedication to the weight room, could see gains to his measurables.

2/14/15 Murphy exhibits similar swing qualities from both sides of the plate. He starts from a slightly open stance with good pre-swing rhythm and strides slightly closed. His approach is contact-oriented with a long path and he keeps his head still throughout the swing. Defensively, Murphy showcased solid feet and hands with an arm best-suited for second base.
