6/15/16 6-foot, 195-pounder stood out physically with impressive measurables across the board running a 6.88 60-yard dash, showcasing 93 mph arm strength from the outfield and flashing a 96 mph bat exit velocity.
A year ago Servello displayed his power arm in raw form in a brief performance on the mound at the West Virginia Top Prospect Games. He has since refined those skills showing a more fluid, balanced delivery while sitting 85-88 from a high 3/4 arm slot. Servello worked a 1-2-3 inning topping at 89 mph and flashed a solid 11/5 breaking curveball at 72 mph to give him a secondary pitch with promise.
Over the course of two games the right-handed hitter went 4-for-6 at the plate with two doubles. Servello barreled the baseball in all six at bats including a line drive that nearly took the pitcher's glove off for one of his outs.
2/14/16 Very physical 6-foot, 195-pound right-handed hitter. Creates significant barrel whip (96 mph bat exit velocity) with physical strength and a flat swing plane. Starts from a square stance and utilizes a high hands load to initiate his swing. Very strong hip turn and full extension after contact allows for present power to all fields. Servello flashed his athleticism by running a 6.94 60-yard dash and displayed advanced arm strength (94 mph) from the outfield.
Delivery with some effort incorporates a sideways rocker step into and over-the-top slot. Gathers on his backside and gets downhill well out of the wind-up. FB sat 86-87, touching 88. Best pitch was a solid 12/6 CB at 69-74 that has a bit of a hump out of his hand, but shows good depth. Still relatively new to the mound, his mid-70s CH is still developing and he struggled to command it in the zone on this day. Quick to the plate in the stretch and didn't give his arm a chance to catch up, causing offerings to ride up out of the zone.
8/9/15 Servello is a 6-foot, 195-pound two-way prospect that only participated on day one of the event. The primary outfielder made the most of his one day showcasing an 88 mph bat exit velocity and running a 6.94 60-yard dash. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and uses a short stride with a powerful lower half to create above average barrel whip. Servello went 0-for-2 in game action, but barreled the baseball in both at bats.
On the mound the righty sat 83-85 while topping at 87 mph. There is some effort in his high 3/4 delivery, but he has just recently made the move to the mound. Servello also showcased a 69 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation and a 75 mph changeup. He faced the minimum in his two innings of work, inducing five ground ball outs and retiring the final hitter on strikes.
6/30/15 6-foot, 195-pound right-handed hitter took an impressive round of batting practice. Starts from a square stance and creates an 86 mph bat exit velocity with above average rhythm and feel for the barrel. Physical athlete showcased a 7.25 60-yard dash and an 89 mph arm from the outfield with above average carry.
