Physical: Strong and athletic 6-foot-2, 200LBS frame. Broad shouldered Pitt commit who projects to be a power arm.
Pitching: Out of the windup sets up squared to the plate with both heels near the rubber. Utilizes a rocker step, working into a leg lift up to chest height. Leg lift remains compact and close to body. Leg works down and out in a relatively straight line towards home plate. Maintains balance well throughout delivery and arm is low effort. The arm action is clean and works without restriction. Releases from a high 3/4 arm slot. During the ProCase ran the FB up to 91MPH, while sitting 89-91MPH.
Physical: Long, solid, projectable 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame
Pitching: Sets up on the first base side of the rubber and gets into his delivery by bringing his hands above his head. He comes set with a higher leg kick and taps the ball in his glove before his moderate arm swing and release out of a power, high ¾ arm slot.
Fastball: One of the better heaters at the entire event, he touched 91 and was sitting in the 88-90 mph range with some arm side life late.
Curveball: 11-5 shape with some late bite, shows signs of being a quality second offering.
Changeup: Thrown with deceptive arm speed out of a similar window to the fastball, showed some late fade.
6-foot-2, 200-pound right-hander with a mature, athletic frame with proportional strength. Sat 89-92 from a 3/4 arm slot with a clean, repeatable delivery. Two-seam fastball shows heavy arm-side run and sink at 89-90 while four-seam fastball has late life in the zone. Curveball is in development, but at its best shows solid depth at 74-76 with 11/5 rotation. The breaking ball has better shape out of the stretch when he stays closed longer. Changeup at 82-83 is thrown with solid arm speed and consistent sink. High end prospect on the mound with the potential to be an early round draft pick if secondary offerings become more refined.
6-foot-2, 200-pounder has a mature frame with a strong lower half and room to continue adding strength over the next few years. He sat 89-91 out of a 3/4 arm slot with an easy, loose arm action with late life to his fastball. Four seamer had riding action at 90-91 while two seamer was heavy with fade at 89-90. The uncommitted junior held his velocity out of the stretch. Curveball showed 11/5 shape with above average spin rate sitting 76-78. Changeup is a quality third pitch at 79-82 with some sink and good arm speed. High follow in this class will draw considerable interest from pro scouts over the next two years.
