Physical: Compact, lean 5-foot-7, 150lb frame with room to continue adding strength as he matures. 7.48 runner in the 60-yard dash; shows well defensively.
Offensively: RHH - Started from an upright position with the feet at shoulder-width operating from a flat handed look over the shoulder pre-swing; utilized a leg hang with weight shift into a stiff front side at footstrike allowing a flat, rotational path to enter the hitting zone. Generated a whippy barrel and produced an impressive 67% line drive rate during his batting practice round, hitting the ball hard where it was pitched. Demonstrated adjustability in the box with a ground-anchored, athletic lower half. Recorded an 82 mph peak bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The primary backstop featured solid receiving skills from a flexible RKD, kickstand approach as a soft glove hand suctioned in on the corners. Pop times ranged from 1.98-2.0 with pre-catch positioning and lightning quick transfers/release in the catch and throw phase. The feet got directional in a hurry and held low posture allowing a ¾ slot to generate accurate darts on the bag (68 mph arm that can continue increasing). Worked hard during blocks, burying the chest downhill following the glove first.
5-foot-6, 125-pound primary pitcher sat 72-74 from a high 3/4 arm slot with a quick arm action. Curveball is an above average pitch at 64-65 with short, tight 11/5 break. Also displayed command of a cutter at 65-67. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly closed stance and initiates his swing with a leg-lift stride. Showed a compact, short swing path with above average feel for the barrel. Registered a bat exit velocity of 73 mph and ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. Showcased pop times of 2.25-2.30 with throws of 68 mph out of the crouch. Two-way prospect also displayed capable defensive actions at third base with accurate 73 mph arm strength across the diamond.
