6/12/18 - 6-foot-3, 150-pound righty sat 82-83 with some arm-side run to his fastball out of a high 3/4 arm slot. Long athletic frame is far from filled out and added velocity is likely moving forward. Displayed a quick arm and fastball had late life. Also showed command of a curveball with 11/5 rotation at 70-72 and a changeup at 70-71. Worked three innings allowing two hits while striking out two.

4/26/18 - 6-foot-2, 155-pound, uncommitted 2019, right-handed pitcher's velocity has progressed in five months since last seen. In rivalry game sat 82-84 touching 86. He continues to work out of mid 3/4 arm slot with attractive loose arm action. Consistent arm side run and sink makes fastball velocity play up. Change was used sparingly but was effective with good sell and consistent arm side fade at 68-69. CB at 69-71 lacked depth and sharpness on this day. Loose arm action, long levers, potential for further strength gains and movement continue to make Manczka an interesting follow.

 
11/19/17 - 6-foot-2, 150-pound right-handed thrower and hitter worked out as two-way player on this day. However, his next level potential appears presently to be on the mound. He works out of a mid-to-high 3/4 arm slot with a long, loose arm action. Mechanically, delivery is repeated well while demonstrating good balance and rhythm. Subtle front side softness is noted immediately following stride foot landing. Fastball sat 82 mph with considerable sink and run. Curveball at 67-69 mph showed 11/5 shape with late break and moderate depth. Changeup at 68-70 mph was thrown with excellent sell and late sink/fade. Command was demonstrated to all quadrants. Manczka's overall presentation represents a very interesting follow in Class of 2019 as his presently slight frame continues to fill out.

Offensively, initiates swing with a heel-raise and no stride. There is a tendency to collapse back side and connect early with back elbow resulting in uphill swing plane and compromised separation. A bat exit velocity of 76 mph was recorded.

Defensively, Manczka would benefit from committing to attacking and working through baseball as well as working out front and bottom up.

7/26/17 - 6-foot-2 150-pound right-hander pitches out of high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball sat 80-82 touching 83 with arm-side run. Curveball thrown 66-68 had 11-5 shape and was inconsistent in it's sharpness and depth.  There was a tendency to become softer on front side and spin off on both his curveball and changeup.  Changeup sat 64-66 and had substantial arm-side fade.

Mechanically, a long, loose arm action with considerable quickness was present.  Manczka did land excessively open with stride foot resulting in some arm drag and first base fall.  He would benefit from landing more neutral/closed and driving over front side.  Overall, length of levers, arm quickness and expected strength gains make Manczka an interesting follow.

Offensively, swing was initiated from neutral with a short stride to slightly open.  Back elbow leak resulted in considerable bat drag.  A bat exit velocity of 75 mph was recorded. Manczka would benefit from staying square in stride and connecting more directly with back elbow.

Defensively, hands and feet are adequate.  Throwing motion is long for middle infielder.  Would benefit from aggressively attacking ball to create angles and hops and consistently playing through the ball.
