2/23/13 Adams turned in a respectable 4.40 home-to-first time for a 6-foot-4, 220-pound prospect. He showed capable defensive skills around the bag and a 76 mph arm across the infield. Adams had a very good round of batting practice squaring the baseball routinely and showing gap-to-gap power. His 91 mph bat exit velocity was one of the tops at the event. Adams sat 81-84 out of a high 3/4 arm slot with a fastball that showed late life and arm-side run. His 75 mph slider with late break was his best secondary pitch. Adams also commanded a 73 mph changeup and a 71 mph curveball in a very solid bullpen session. He will be a definite high follow as he continues to progress.

10/12/12 Adams is a 6-foot-4, 215-pound RHP/1B who was impressive. Adams showcased an 83mph bat exit speed that he used to continually square baseballs during batting practice. He used a solid lower half and a short swing plane to drive baseballs to all fields. Adams worked one inning on the mound in game play, topping out at 83mph from an over the top arm slot. Adams also showed an 11/5 breaking curveball at 70mph.
8/22/12 Adams showed a great deal of promise and projects as a potential power pitcher at the next level. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound RHP/1B topped out at 84mph with a heavy fastball. Adams has excellent mechanics that are repeatable. He also showcased control of a 66mph curveball, a 72mph changeup with arm side run and a 72mph slider. His curveball has good 1/7 rotation and could become an out pitch with additional work.
Adams showcased one of the best bat exit speed velos of the day at 85mph. He displayed a short swing path resulting in line drives to all fields with some gap power. He also demonstrated the ability to make all plays at first base. Adams could be a two-way player to watch in the Class of 2014.
