8/2/16 6-foot-1, 165-pound athletic, projectable body frame. From the outfield he uses athletic footwork to approach the baseball and takes good angles when fielding ground balls consistently getting to his glove side. Throws with a clean arm action through an upper ¾ slot, using 70 mph velocity from the outfield. Left-handed hitter starts from an open stance getting back to being squared up to even, but tends to be a little late getting his foot down on time. Has a fluid load with his hands moving past his back shoulder. Showed quickness to his hands and the ability to use both sides of the field during his round of batting practice. Recorded a top exit velocity of 87 mph and ran a 4.44 home to first base time. On the mound the lefty offers a good three-pitch mix, using regular effort to his delivery. Lands in a straight line at foot strike finishing with his momentum starting to leak toward third base side. Has a little quickness to his arm speed, through a ¾ slot. His fastball was thrown between 79-82 mph. The curveball is a good pitch showing sharp break with 1/7 tilt at 69-71 mph. Throws his changeup using fastball arm speed between 75-76 mph.
6/15/16 6-foot-1, 170-pound lefty shined in three innings of work striking out four while allowing just three hits. Sat 82-84 from a high 3/4 arm slot with sound, repeatable mechanics. Fastball showed arm side run. 73 mph two-plane curveball with 1/7 rotation is a college ready second pitch, but changeup (72-75) is still in development. Athletic, projectable frame and easy, fluid delivery should lead to additional velocity moving forward.
