Physical: 6-foot-3, 195 pounds; Long, slender build. 7.18 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; flat bat to start. Loads straight back with a toe-tap for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a a high finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 95 MPH via Trackman. Bat speed averaged an impressive 71.5mph for this freshman with an average EV of 85.3mph.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep step while sitting back. Hands are soft while funneling to the hip before transfer. Long arm swing from a low 3/4 arm slot. INF - 78 MPH.
Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using an angled drop step. Belt high leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while wrist hooks behind back; low 3/4 slot. Upright with finish. FB: Peak velo of 84 MPH, while sitting 81-83 MPH; arm side run with sink. CH: 68 MPH; fading action. High velo freshman displayed a low IVB FB with an impressive max of 20.3in HM.
Physical: Projectable, athletic 6-foot-3, 182lb frame. 7.38 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Crouched, slightly open stance with bent elbow to begin. Utilized a toe-tap stride to initiate the swing through an uphill, connected path into the hitting zone. Plenty of leverage while working behind the ball on the turn. Got extended towards the pull-side of the field with quality power distribution for a T91 mph exit velocity. Recorded multiple in-game extra-base hits during his week at Lakepoint.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured a timed-up lower half and soft hands at the point of attack. Funneled inward to the chest from a higher center of gravity and delivered an accurate 74 mph arm-strength across the infield (H ¾). Might slide over to a corner spot in the future due to size.
Physical: Athletic, projectable 6-foot-3, 182lb build. 7.38 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Slightly bent, even stance with some hinge out over the plate. Utilized a toe-tap stride to initiate the swing through a flat path, rotating efficiently to the pull-side of the field. Plenty of juice available, recording a T91 mph exit velocity at 310 feet via Trackman. Developing extra-base hit approach, which jumps on the fastball.
Defensively: The middle infielder displayed a narrow base and soft glove hand when fielding, covering ground to his left. Made all of the plays with an accurate 73 mph arm-strength on the back-end out of a ¾ slot.
Pitching: RHP. Starts off the far left corner; developing pace that closes the window quickly through release, landing a 78-81 mph FB with heavy arm-side run. Mixed a diving upper-60’s splitter at 982 rpms AVG. Minimal hard contact against.
Physical: Tall, projectable 6-foot-2, 165lber with a big body. 7.47 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Narrow, open stance showing a slight crouch. Utilized a leg-lift stride with some hip coil to initiate the swing through a slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. High two-handed finish on the backside and extended on the ball a couple times for a T86 mph bat-exit velocity. More power to come.
Defensively: The MIF flashed a hop in the prep-step with average pace during his defensive round. Developing actions, set up on time and released from a lower ¾ slot (67 mph, accurate). Might slide to a corner eventually.
Pitching: RHP - Gains pace in the delivery with quick short to long arm action out in front. Created some angle on the ball at times, finding the bottom of the zone, 73-75 mph with heavy action. Mixed a low-60’s CB that will have a chance and deadened 58-60 mph CH.
