Physical: Stocky, durable 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame with more to come. 7.90 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Controlled, balanced setup with the hands starting slightly over the plate with minor rhythm pre-swing. Utilized a leg-hang stride with advanced feel in order to have the hands work through a repeatable, flat barrel path and into the hitting zone. Delivered the bat head early on occasion generating some ground ball contact to the pull-side, but really packed a punch when staying through it (87 mph peak exit velocity). The movements were smooth and give confidence that he can tap into additional power as he matures (23.5 mph hand speed / mid-70’s max bat speed). Showed off occasional lift to the RCF line side and a top batted ball distance of 243 feet.
Defensively: The primary first baseman demonstrated fluidity in the approach; was repeatedly on time with the right foot at the fielding window allowing the glove hand to play smoothly out in front in and rhythm. Accurate 70 mph arm strength across the diamond and present feel around the bag.
Pitching: LHP - Started from the left side of the rubber, deep side rocker step into a slowed down leg lift at belt level, generated crossfire on the land while dropping the arm down to a tough, low ¾ look. FB ranged from 73-75, T76 mph with crazy arm-side play (16.2 inches of HM). Paired it up with a 62-64 mph SL showing developing feel for spin (threw a couple that were solid.. small, late bite up to 5 inches of HM). A 66-68 mph CH effectively killed spin (down to 1198 average RPM’s) creating a bit of deception at the plate.
