2027 IF/RHP Oliver Nunez (Reading) Nunez features a lean, athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 160 lbs. Offensively, the right-handed hitter demonstrated a fly-ball-oriented approach (50% FB) with a 50% sweet-spot rate, peaking at 92 mph exit velocity and launching a max distance of 318 feet. Defensively on the dirt, he recorded a 77 mph infield velocity. On the mound, the right-hander commanded a three-pitch mix, featuring a fastball at 84-86 mph (max 86 mph) with solid spin (avg 2191 rpm), paired with a sharp curveball at 76-78 mph (avg 2287 rpm) and a changeup at 78-81 mph (avg 2368 rpm).
Physical: 5-7, 133 pounds; Average, lean build. 8.43 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Drifts into contact while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with a late one hand finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 70 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; static during pre-pitch while playing low to the ground. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a low 3/4 arm slot. INF - 67 MPH.
Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup working primarily from the stretch. Belt high leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Moderate arm swing while arm stays in line with 2B; standard 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 71 MPH, while sitting 68-71 MPH; straight action. CB: 59-64 MPH; 1-7 shape. SL: 62-65
