NY Futures Showcase (February 28, 2015): Simpson stands an athletic 5-foot-9, 150-pounds.  At the plate he showed a respectable exit velocity of 74 MPH for his age.  Stance is shoulder  width apart.  Small knee lift before stride on the pitch.  Level swing.  Pulls out and lunges slightly.  Should work on staying back ,and letting the pitch get deeper.  In the field he moves well, and showed great arm strength (74 MPH).  Wide set up, receives the ball between his feet.  Stays low in his shuffle,  moves through his throws.  Good baseball actions.  On the mound he stands tall, hands chest high.  Side step to waist high leg kick.  Rushes a little.  Should learn to stay over the rubber, and lead with his hip.  Drop and drive method.  Good arm action, throws downhill.  Good extension, Above average FB with movement (75 MPH).  CH was 63 MPH with arm side run.  Someone to watch in the future.
