Physical: Physical specimen with athleticism on the bump (three-sport athlete) in a strong/durable 6-foot-1, 198lb frame.
Pitching: RHP - Starts from the left side of the rubber, with a short-tempoed side rocker into a closed off stack position (hip coil), working down the mound with accuracy and straight line rotation down through the glove. Opened with a lot of fastball strikes (84-87, T88; sink) to the arm side corner generating ground balls/weak contact over the first inning. A 30 minute rain-delay hit and Baer came out with better intent on a tall breaking ball (68-71, depth) that he landed for strikes to keep hitters off time. Would later add a low-spin CH in the 1335rpm average range, which could be a future third offering.
