5-foot-10, 160-pound, wiry strong, athletic frame. The hands, wrists and legs have strength and quickness to them. A right-handed hitting utility player, can play all over the field. The stance is even, feet are wider than shoulder width apart, hands are loose and relaxed at shoulder height. The hands have some movement to them in the pre pitch setup. The load is a combination of some coil and a small leg raise, hands stay back and gains ground with stride foot. The swing is short, quick and direct to the baseball. The path is down to level to up, the approach is advanced, squares it up and drives it to all fields. The barrel stays through the baseball and rolls the wrists late and high. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 89 mph, with serious life and whip to the barrel. The sixty-yard dash was clocked at 7.16, showed a good kick on the back, easy effort. Defensively, behind the plate, feet and hands work well in transfer, feet are quick and arm action is short. The arm was clocked at 71 mph, with pop time of 1.97-2.15. Throws were on the bag, could get out front more, tends to throw uphill at times, stay through release point. At third base, hands and feet work well together, moves well to the glove side. The arm action is short, clocked at 74 mph, throws had good touch with carry across the diamond. Off the mound, simple delivery, works from the set position the entire time, leg raise is more knee to knee, direction is in line and gets squared up to the plate on release. The arm action has average length to it, works out of a ¾ to high ¾ slot. The fastball was clocked at 78 mph. The breaking ball is a good pitch, thrown at 66 mph, has slider/slurve break to it, thrown for strikes and could be used as a putaway pitch. The changeup showed depth with good velocity off the fastball, clocked at 68-71 mph. Good looking athlete, pop in his swing, projects for me as a catcher, think he will eventually make a move to outfield with his ability to run and cover ground, solid follow.
