This was our first look at Tran since he made the move over from Saskatchewan. A stringy 6-foot-3, 155-pounds, Tran gets the most out of his body on the mound. The Portland commit is composed with a simple delivery - an easy 87-89 mph coming out of his hand, while complimenting his fastball with a sharp slider (2500+ RPM) at 82-83 mph and a fading changeup at 83-84 mph. Headed into his final summer in high school, it'll be interesting to see how Tran develops as he fills out the frame he has. Strong overall day for the right-hander.

’25 RHP/SS Matthew Tran was another intriguing, projectable arm to take the mound at the Saskatchewan Fall Open ID. 6-foot-2, 155-pounds with a lean, athletic frame and clean actions/movements on the mound. The fastball sat 83-84 T85 with 2400+ spin and also works with a slider and curveball, both of which he spins at 2550+. High-spin, three-pitch mix and the look of more velocity to come. One of the higher upside arms we saw this weekend in Saskatchewan this week and will be interesting where he’s at development wise come next summer.
