The biggest riser in the 2021 class (79 to 27, +52) excelled at PBR Future Games. Yu posted a top 5 pop time for the event (1.88-1.97) to go w/ advanced receiving and offensive upside (2 for 4 | 3 R). The most polished true catcher in the class w/ good knowledge of the game. Certainly a player to watch in 2020.

The 6-foot, 190-pound catcher continued to stay hot at Lakepoint for the Futures Games. During the showcase segment, Yu logged the 5th overall best pop time for all participants. Showed to be an advanced receiver w/ quiet movements and quick release on throws. At the plate, smooth rhythm w/ bat staying in zone for long time. Drove the baseball gap-to-gap during BP. Went 2 for 4 (1B/ 2B/ 2 BB) w/ 4 quality at bats in 6 plate appearances + scored 3 runs. Advanced approach at the plate for the RHH. Profile projects as advanced defender behind the dish and intriguing bat w/ offensive upside.
