Caleb Carpenter (2027, Independence) The freshman outfield/RHP has slowly turned himself into one of Indepence’s best players early on generating impact in the back-end of the lineup, while starting in centerfield. He has an extremely high baseball IQ and plays the game with a lot of confidence, mentally years ahead of a lot of his freshman peers. He had another strong performance at the plate where he would be the Eagles most consistent hitter collecting two hits and 1 walk in three at-bats. He was a recent standout at PAS back in February and has already carried a lot of the early momentum into the spring season. At 5 foot 10 and 160 pounds, Carpenter will surely continue to add size and feel out, while already being a 7 flat runner that should steadily improve where he may be in the 6.8’s-6.9’s before the summer ends. A current top-15 player in the 2027 class, Carpenter is an extremely high follow for the next few seasons where he projects true two-way potential in the outfield and on the mound.
