6-foot-1, 185-pound catcher/third baseman has improved his physicality since we last saw him in 2019. Lean, frame with some lower half strength and improved build. Strayer is in-between positions, as he's shown above average arm strength and more consistency on pop times from behind the dish while proving to be an adequate at the hot corner. Solid hands and fluid feet on the infield with good range as 7.0-7.2 runner. Simple, crouched stance with compact load with line drive power and flashes of gap-to-gap (Max Exit Velo: 87.4 mph; Distance: 316 ft per Trackman). Looking for more consistency with the barrel, but hits the ball in the air while trying to do damage. Big winter ahead for Strayer, as he looks to build upon his progress while trying to find where he fits long term, but a well-rounded prospect with multiple paths to the field.
