SS/2B, (2021) Ezell-Harding, TN. 5-foot-11, 165-pound athletic frame. In the box, Whitaker had a max exit velocity of 87 mph. Began in an athletic balanced stance with a smooth controlled load, then used a small leg kick to initiate his swing. Has explosive bat speed, rotational uphill swing plane and high finish. Found lots of barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Above average while in the infield, made throws up to 81 mph; has twitchy sure hands, a fluid quick exchange and smooth rhythmic feet. Showed a quick arm action and a ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the base. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.69.
The 5-foot-10, 155-pound infielder broke into the rankings after a great PBR debut at the Hit After Hit Fall Scout Day. Whitaker is a quick, twitch athlete with great hands and seamless transitions up the middle. Short, compact swing with good bat speed and gap to gap power potential. Stays short and gets great natural loft with some solid pull side power. Light on his feet and runs well (60: 6.97).
