5’11, 150-pound middle infielder showed a big jump since we saw him in January, improving his exit velocity by 5 ticks and arm strength in the infield by 6 ticks. Medium, athletic frame w/ some present lower half strength, super projectable. Offensively, hits w/ an open, very slightly crouched stance w/ hand rhythm into leg kick to square and short hand load (takes a small step with his back leg to reset as well). Generates above average bat speed through the zone, flashes some whip. Stays through the ball well, ability to spray lines drives to all fields w/ some power. On the dirt, shows ok footwork w/ solid hands and projectable carry to target arm strength, valued releasing the ball quickly. On the mound, righty pitches from the stretch only into ¾ release. Upright finish w/ some effort in the throw. Falls off to the 1st base side. Intriguing arm-speed, projectable future velocity. Straight FB flashes short cut to his glove-side corner, short arm side run to his arm-side corner. Short downer CB flashes tight rotation w/ a wide range on measured spin rate per Trackman due to finishing some pitches with conviction and slowing arm slightly on others. Around the zone w/ his 2-pitch mix, recording a clean 4 outs. Generated 3 swing and misses on 9 swings.
