Defensively Pope shows loose arm action, accuracy on throws, average arm strength, average hands, fluid footwork, clean exchange, natural instincts with solid corner actions. Pope shows good overall athletic ability for his position. Offensively Pope has average bat speed from the right side and had an 82 mph exit velocity off the tee. He hits from a balanced setup, has a short stride, uses his lower half, has good overall balance, has an aggressive approach, level swing but needs to get on top of the ball more at times, has a fluid rhythm and is a line drive type hitter. Pope needs to improve on overall strength and you will see his game improve tremendously. He went 1-for-4 during game play.

8/8/15 - 6-foot-2, 165-pound right handed hitter hits from a balanced stance with a short stride, maintains good balance, loose hands, line drive type hitter with gap to gap approach, has room to get physically stronger, ran a solid 4.46 down the line, 76 mph exit velocity off the tee, went 2-for-5 in game play with singles to LF and RF, made contact in each AB and had a stolen base. Shows soft hands with athletic corner actions, good lateral movement, accurate arm with a long over the top release, 76 mph velocity across the infield.

Defensively Pope showed soft hands, fluid footwork, average arm strength with a long high-3/4 release. Offensively Pope showed average bat speed from the right side and had a 78 mph exit velocity off the tee. Pope hits from a balanced setup with a short stride and good overall balance. Is a line drive type hitter and went 0-for-3 in game play.
