Denton was a crucial bat in a Hardin Valley lineup that just seemed to put up runs in bunches every night last year. He was a unit behind the dish handling the pitching staff and middle of the order bat. They lose some pieces (including brother Brycen Denton), but Hardin Valley expects to be very competitive in district four. Denton and the lineup will be a key part of that.
6-foot, 190-pound athletic frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 83 mph. Begins in a balanced stance, has a small load and uses a small leg kick right before his swing. Exhibits a flat swing plane and high finish. Was able to find lots of barrels in his rounds. Line drive approach Was quick and efficient behind the plate, producing pop times of 1.95-2.03. His best recorded throw to second was clocked at 73 mph; has sure hands and athletic footwork. Used an-over-the-top slot with short compact arm action.
