CAK always has a deep roster both positionally and on the mound over the past decade. They reached the state tournament again last year after a run of state titles, but they lost a lot of key pieces to graduation. It won't be a rebuild, but a reload to see who will step up to fill key innings and at bats. Lipscomb commit seems like a safe bet, who has been featured in a run producing role while handling third base duties. He's been a solid arm on the mound, who may see a more expanded role in that aspect, but the senior's physical bat will be right in the mix of their overall success.
6-foot-1, 205-pound physical frame. During batting practice, Strange showed power in the box with an exit velocity of 91 mph. Began in a balanced crouched stance with a smooth load, then used a small leg kick to start his swing. Bat speed was explosive, had uphill simple swing plane and high finish. During his round he produced tons of loud contact and found lots of barrels. Gap to gap approach. Above average in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 87 mph; had consistent rhythmic footwork, sure soft hands and a natural quick exchange. Had a ¾ slot and a short arm action with decent accuracy to the base. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.35. Above average on the mound, used a quick arm action and a ¾ arm angle while showing quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows high effort. Balance point is tall with even shoulders during delivery. Lands square with a recoil finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 81-83 mph; shows sinking action and decent control with heavy movement. His sharp curveball (66-68) showed decent command and tight action. His changeup (73-74) showed control low in the zone and fading action.
