(Ravenwood, 2027) The young freshman is already a large factor in the Raptors lineup where he has already shown maturity and ability at the plate. Lauer already comes in with some physical traits at 5 foot 10 and 175 pounds. We got our most recent look at Lauer this past winter at our Prep Baseball Tennessee’s Preseason All-State where he initially stood out on the mound throwing low 80’s. He carried the interest over to the plate where he showed good bat to ball skills and ability to use his hips where he produced 21 G’s of rotation according to Blast Motion. The body will continue to refine as he matures but comes with present strength where he displayed a deep shot line-drive to center field burning the outfielder for 3-RBI Double. This comes in after earlier smoking a ball through the 6-hole for a 2-RBI single. In back to back games, Lauer was hitting in crucial moments with runners on the bases and two outs. He went a total of 3-3 in those situations with 7 RBI’s. He is a current top-30 player in the 2027 class, while already creating opportunities for himself this spring season.
