6-foot-1 170-pound frame, ran a 7.30 60-yard dash. Right-handed swing, posting an 85 mph exit velocity from a short stance and high leg kick. Quick hands allowing barrel to stay in the zone. Uses back side well in swing. IF work is smooth and quick with a short arm action. Gets rid of the ball quickly and shows good footwork in the field. IF velocity was 82, showing promise of a strong arm.

In batting practice he controlled his barrel and hit low line drives with backspin across the field. He starts in an athletic stance, and gets more into his legs in his load and stride. He has a flat barrel action, and has an aggressive swing with the intent to hit the baseball with authority. In the infield, he has quick feet and takes small quiet steps in his approach to the ball. He has soft hands, and funnels the ball into the middle of his body while he sets his feet to throw. Howson was very accurate with his throws and topped out at 78 mph across the infield. He ran a 7.60 laser-timed 60.
