A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.

Caden Salamanca, Ridge Point (TX), 2025 Positional Profile: C/RHP Solid catch and throw in future with opportunities for adjustments. Like the upside. Pitcher…change is best pitch. FB will develop with adequate velocity. CB/SL must develop. Body: 6-1, 217-pounds. Thickness to lower with good frame/build to add strength. Delivery: Side step rocker, on line stride, legs works straight down the slope. Avg finish out front. Arm Action: RH. Full circle works fine. Fair arm speed. TQ slot with avg extension out front. FB: T85, 82-84 mph. Flat FB with limited carry up. Lacks life. Fair strike thrower. T2234, 2174 average rpm. CB: 66-68 mph. CB with fair action. 12-5, early at times. Around zone with pitch. T1851, 1782 average rpm. SL: 75-75 mph. Slider…short breaker showing limited depth. CH: 75-76 mph. Change best pitch. Tail/sink with deception present. ATH: 7.97 runner in the 60. 1.88 and 4.40 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Hard runner. 20.90 max vertical.

FB will develop with adequate velocity. CB/SL must develop. Body: 6-1, 217-pounds. Thickness to lower with good frame/build to add strength. Hit: RHH. Lands in solid position to hit. Lower 1/2, backside doesn't work. Back foot kicks back and gets stuck. Must work on ability to either rotate back foot, get shoelaces towards pitcher or develop linear movement to back foot towards the pitcher…which is what I would suggest. Limiting ability to impact baseball with present approach. Slight inward turn of front shoulder, then opens early in swing. Hands/barrel start in fair position. Length to swing created with barrel tip trigger along with inward turn of shoulder. Can shorten trigger along with calming front shoulder…load with hands, not shoulder. Decent path into zone with hands. Lacks extension to swing, in/out of hitting zone quickly. 68.9 mph bat speed with 11 G's of rotational acceleration. Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 75.5 mph. 303' max distance. Opportunities for adjustments present. Contact consistency and ability to impact baseball will improve with adjustments. Arm: RH. C-77 mph. Solid carry to throws with accuracy present. Pop times and carry to throw can improve with improved footwork setting to throw along with getting over front side when throwing, stands up presently. Defense: 1.95-2.04 pop times. Solid receiver in game play. Feet work fine setting to throw, can improve quickness, solid glove to hand exchange. ATH: 7.97 runner in the 60. 1.88 and 4.40 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Hard runner. 20.90 max vertical.
