A long stride runner, he started the day by posting a 6.84-second 60-yard dash. The left-handed hitter starts from a balanced stance and uses a reverse leg lift to load as he pushes his weight back and triggers his hands down and back. Flat path into the zone as he gets the barrel on plane early, working slightly uphill with line drive power, loose finish, and an exit velocity of 78 mph. Hands work well through the zone, good barrel awareness and feel for hitting. In the outfield, Matthew plays through the ball with quick footwork and throws from a ¾ slot with a long arm stroke at 81 mph.
