We have seen Loser’s stock continue to rise over the last year, and on Friday he got the start for Coach Watson’s squad. The RHP was 84-86 and he isn’t even close to tapping out on where he is gonna be. He threw his usual high spin breaking ball at 70-71. He didn’t throw it with the same conviction as the fastball, when he gets that going this will be a true swing and miss breaker. The changeup was especially effective on Friday. He threw it with great arm speed at 77-78 and it had good sinking action on it. If Loser can continue to fill the strike zone up and get the breaking ball over, he will be a big part of Denton Guyer’s success this year.
Loser has really seen his stock rise over the last few months. The Denton Guyer Jr. has a good blend of present stuff, with plenty of projection left. While his velocity was down a little, he still sat in the mid 80’s topping out at 86. He had spin near 2500 rpm’s on his fastball, and over 2700 rpm on his curveball. The curveball has a chance to be a true swing and miss pitch for him. He also is developing a usable change up that shows good arm side fade. As Loser continues to fill out physically, the velo should continue to rise as well.
