09.30.17 - Minarovic’s 5-foot-10, 160-pound frame is just starting to mature, and as he adds strength he should continue an upward trend as a prospect. The wiry-athlete floats around the infield where he demonstrates confident hands that allow him to easily scoop up ground balls before quickly whipping them over to first base. His clean footwork and strong, accurate arm combined with his athleticism should give him a chance to stick at shortstop at the next level. At the plate, Minarovic has a simple approach with a short, compact stroke. He starts tall with his hands held back, and separates them even further back with a short stride before working slightly uphill through the zone with a loose finish. As he fills out, expect Minarovic’s simple, line drive approach to start producing some gap power, and combined with his speed (6.93 60-yard dash), could end up at the top of some program’s lineup at the next level.
