The two way talent from Lake Highlands had himself a nice day on Sunday. At the plate, he had a max exit velocity of 98.6 and some of the best bat speed at the event with a max of 77.4 On defense he profiles best as a 3rd baseman and he has plenty of arm strength to play there. He also had himself a nice day on the mound. He showed good mechanics with a clean short arm path. His fastball got up to 87. He complimented the heater with a split change. He controlled it well, showing consistent sinking action on the pitch. Murcer has a good frame, and should continue to add some velocity.
