Hammond is already 6-foot-2, 175-pounds, with a long-limbed, projectable pitcher’s frame. The right-hander has a clean arm stroke from a high-¾ slot with relative ease down the mound. His fastball topped out at 82, sitting mostly 79-81, with downward tilt as he gets inside the baseball at release. Slider has short, late, 11/5 downer break at 74-75 mph. Curveball has earlier break with gradual depth at 65-66 mph. There is a lot of upside still left in this young arm.

Hammond has a strong, projectable frame for a rising freshman at 6-foot-1, 160-pounds. The right-handed hitter starts from a tall, slightly open stance with his hands set high - and back over his back shoulder. Simple load back with a low-hanging slight toe-tap. Lands balanced, strong hands, hard contact with an exit velocity of 77 mph. In the outfield, Hammond plays through the ball with soft hands and a clean exchange, before he throws from high-¾ slot with a top velocity of 81 mph.
