The TCU signee took the mound against our #1 team in the Power 30 rankings, Southlake Carroll. He matched Herring pitch for pitch the first few innings before giving up a couple runs. Brooks has a mature approach on the mound and has a plan when he is out there. He was 88-90 showing the ability to command the fastball in and out. He threw a nice breaking ball and changeup as well. Brooks has pitched a lot of big innings in his prep career and I expect him to anchor the Bridgeland staff as the year goes on.
