The #6 player in the state may have some of the highest upside in the class. The 6’4 switch hitting SS moves extremely well for someone of his size and has a real chance of staying at short. He has more than enough arm strength to make all the throws and showed good range up the middle. At the plate, he batted from the right side on this night and leadoff the game with a line drive single. He also barrelled another ball up for a line drive out the opposite field. There is easy bat speed there and has power potential from both sides. Farr is one of the top uncommitted players in the state regardless of class and should be a must watch for Colleges this summer.
One of the top overall performers on Sunday was Farr. The Sophomore showed off all of his tools. He ran a 6.99 60 to start off the day, and then threw 89 across the diamond during the infield drills. The QB1 then stepped to the plate and showed off power potential from both sides. For his size and age, the barrel control was impressive. Farr has one of the more intriguing skill sets in the state, and it will be interesting to see where his body goes as he matures
The 6-foot-4, 170-pound switch hitting shortstop has a frame to dream on. Smooth in the field for his size and age, showing the ability to make all the plays necessary to stick at short. At the plate, Farr shows a simple swing with high level barrel to ball skills from both sides of the plate, using his long levers and bat speed to hit the ball hard. As the frame continues to mature, the power should continue to develop. He is also an above average runner. Farr is the QB1 at Boswell HS, and the leadership skills show up on the diamond. As the body continues to develop, Farr will be one to keep an eye on.
