Johnson has been spending the fall on the gridiron playing cornerback for the Marauders, but the left-handed hitter can still show well at a fall event. Starts from a tall stance, then loads with a short leg kick as he triggers his hands back, landing square. Quick hands whip the bat on an inside-path as he delivers the barrel with low effort. Middle of the field approach, but he can still turn on the ball on the inner half, elevating it to the pull side. Made a nice play at third base during the game when he drop stepped to get a big hop to his glove side. Clean exchange into an elbow dominant arm stroke with a clean release.

Five-foot-10, 160-pound frame. Johnson has a really smooth swing from the left side and uses his body and backside well to drive through the baseball at the point of contact; 87 mph exit velo off a tee. Has quick twitch actions with his barrel with good extension through the hitting zone and a level planed swing with minimal head movement. In batting practice, he drove balls to the gap in right-center with consistency. He showed a quick release with accuracy from the infield and was 77 mph across the diamond. He consistently put himself in positions to work through the ball and make plays, and changed arm angles on the run efficiently. Johnson ran a 7.35 laser-timed 60.
