A med frame to a compact filled out build that will have to rely on his skills and movement patterns, as he is a mature body for his age. Not a runner at 7.62, which will relegate to 3B or LF with a heavier running style. Defensively the movements and actions are educated, as he does show some dance to his feet. The hands are soft, while he plays below the baseball and from the ground up. Gets the ball out of the glove quickly and the ball gets underway efficiently. The arm is below avg, though it’s accurate across the diamond. The bat features an unorthodox low hand set up to hit and does a pre-load movement up and into the 45 degree launch to load the hands. Shows a high knee kick and hesitates while balanced. Takes a short, compact stroke quick stroke for his age and shows near avg hand and bat speed. The plane of the swing will improve by using his legs to move vertically with the path of the baseball, to remain and get on plane better. Doesn’t really drive the baseball yet and gets some top spin, that limits his batted ball distance and his carry to the gaps. Young and showing some actions. Will keep an eye on his progress.
