The youngest position player at the Future Games and eligible for 2 more years to attend. Looks the part of a ballplayer, as he is 6-1 185 and L-L. The body is lean and strong with broad shoulders and long limbs to continue adding size and strength over the next 4-6 years with natural growth and development. The key will be the gym and what he does to take it beyond the natural format. Blessed with pure God given raw power, that’s solid avg now and 55 on the MLB grading scale. Projects to 60 easily with a chance for 70, which is well above average on the scale. The ball jumps off the bat when he catches it right with back spin and carry. Can leave the park now from straightaway CF to the pull side and in time as he continues to develop, the focus should be on driving the ball as hard and far as he can to the back side of the field as well. Does need to utilize his lower half in his approach to and through the ball, as he uses his upper half at this point, due to his natural strength and is so young and just trying to gain an understanding of how his body should move and work through his swing. Tracks the ball and reacts to balls off the bat defensively in an advanced manner vs his peers of the same age. The arm is a 45 now, which is just below avg, but the arm works and shows online carry to the target on a hop to project a 55 or solid avg arm and will be able to play RF and profile nicely and corner power bat. Has the ingredients to project into a definite D1 hitter and wouldn’t surprise me if it develops beyond that as well. It’s in his court to have that carrot and chase it with hard work and determination, because the ingredients are there.

Rising Stars ID 

First look at Austin, and came away impressed and was as advertised by some coaches and father's that recommended him highly. A two way threat, that is a little better right now with the bat, but shows solid potential on the mound, and being LH'ed, those type of arms have to prove they are not prospects. The setup to hit and physicality for a 14 year old right now, looks the part of a ballplayer, and he's solidly built, while being long and lean. With a slight lean back and lift of the front foot, in setting it down softly, the barrel turns into a 45 degree launch phase and the swing plane is flat through the zone w/some loft angled approach as well. Can drive the baseball and is strong for his age, and advanced at that, by his EV of 93.2, which was the event high mark. From the OF, the approach is online and fields out front, and gets into a solid position to throw, with a clean and pure arm stroke w/good ext. out front in finishing his throws. 

Pitching

On the mound, there is potential with a conventional flexible knee lift and gets down the slope with better momentum and use of his legs needed. The arm is a little shorter thru the HTQ slot, than his full clean arm circle from the OF. Does cut off somewhat, and could use better reach and ext. out front. The FB in the mid 70's should be 80 by next year and put him in line for a age specific velocity of a next level type player. The CB has some shape and angle at times, though he does slow his delivery somewhat to shorten his stride and get on top of the pitch, to create spin and depth. 

Overall potential is very good with the bat and leaves me excited for his future w/invite events in his future against much older players, and I believe he will hold his own and even have success.
