A 6-4 wiry lean 15 yr old with a slight build and abv avg bone structure to fill out and add considerable size and strength as he matures, Stanger at 175 Lbs, looks to pack on another 30-40 Lbs over time and should be a stallion when all is said and done! A member of his varsity rotation as a freshman, Stanger had his moments over the year as he had some struggles, but at times showed flashes of dominance and what’s to come. With 46 K outs in 45.2 innings of work, he also walked 28, but it was a state playoff game, that knocked #1 ranked Olympus out of the the tournament, to put Woods Cross into the tourney as Stanger went 6.1 inns with 2 walks and 10 K outs, while allowing 5 runs. A high flexible kick to his delivery with a solid hip turn up top, with a fast arm, Stanger can already run his FB up to 88 mph and ranges 84-88. The arm is fluid thru a HTQ a lot after a deeper hand drop. The FB plays with late downhill run and sink and hitters swing over the top. The CB needs work at 67-68 as he needs some tweaks with his hand and wrist positioning, while firming up the wrist to finish the pitch. It currently rolls with loose spin at 1769. The upside to work with is high and he wants to be good and has some natural confidence to reign in and be really good over the next 3 years. Bloodlines are evident as well, as his older brother Blake is a LHP at JUCO power Salt Lake CC
The tall freshman RHP with bloodlines, as his older brother is a LHP at Salt Lake CC, Stanger has height and loose long limbs with athleticism to continue to develop and blossom with projection into a low to mid 90's FB one day and sooner in HS, rather than later. Already a firm 83-86 T87 and pitching with confidence and performance at the 6A level. A consideration for the PBR Future Games in July, Stanger is near decided upon, just needs to continue performing and make a solid push over the next 3-4 weeks. Already in the rotation as a freshman says a lot about his ceiling and where his floor is right now!
