Boston Hatch, Riverton (UT), 2028 Positional Profile: LHP/OF Super projectable arm on the mound with a loose EZ arm stroke with a feel for 3 pitches at and advanced age. Wouldn't surprise if upper 80's with life to low 90's at maturity Body: 6-3, 164-pounds. One of those tall gangly kids that oozes projection physically and has the skinny lean frame for 40 more quality Lbs at maturity. Delivery: Tall into a high kick, drop and drive, yet compact delivery with extension Arm Action: LH. Loose whippy nd fluid with reach and finish out fron to a flat back at finish and follow through. FB: T80, 77-79 mph. Arm side run with sink, will create GB's and swing over K's. T2354, 2269 average rpm. CB: 67-70 mph. Late slurvy type with oky and rait plane, tilt and depth. Solid for class. T2162, 2059 average rpm. CH: 67-69 mph. Kills the spin well and pronates with pull the string effect. Fades with late sink. T1477, 1398 average rpm. ATH: 7.37 runner in the 60.

James Hallows, Woods Cross (UT), 2026 Positional Profile: C/1B A fun find at the Preseason ID in January with the EV power and cannon for an arm. Repeated that performance t the Preseason All-State and once gain left the yard with solid to hard contact and once again showing the bazooka of an arm. Body: 5-11, 206-pounds. Med frame with catcher type build thickness throughout. Country farm boy strong Hit: RHH. Upright even prop stance with a high bat over the back shoulder Slightly uphill and shows a fair to avg on-linwe plane, that needs to use his legs to move up and down vertically with the body to get on plane 76.1 mph bat speed with 12 G's of rotational acceleration. Power: 101 max exit velocity, averaged 94.0 mph. 334' max distance. Solid to plus raw power and the ball jumps on a line and features backspin to the alleys Arm: RH. C-81 mph. Quick exchange with God given arm strength. Accurate and throws carry through the bag with consistent 1.85-1.95 throws. Defense: 1.85-2.00 pop times. Need to see more of him in game situations, and will ge that in couple of weeks in preseason tournaments ATH: 7.66 runner in the 60. Runs like a catcher and will be a station to station type Vizual Edge: 73.61 Edge Score

Hatch is a mainstay at Prep Baseball ID and invite only events. The tall and rangy incoming freshman can his FB up to 84-85 (didn’t pitch at this event), but had a strong BP, as he powered balls on a hard line through the 2B spot and into RCF with backspin carry. A projectable bat with potential pull side thump as he continues to fill out and coordinate his body a bit more, the Riverton product, will be playing for a new and outstanding coaching staff with experience coaching the MGF Marshalls and another successful HS program. Hatch has been a dominant player on the youth circuit and now will take his steady 1B glove and easy gate to balls in RF, to profile on the corners, but the arm is gonna be intriguing on the mound as a tall LHP with a projectable frame, FB and big arching CB for K’s!

Hatch is the younger brother of former Bingham HS star 3B Jonny Hatch, who currently is on a 2 year church mission, yet will return in the fall of 2024 and play on scholarship at JUCO World Series qualifier Salt Lake CC. The younger Hatch, Boston is a tall projectable athletic build, that shows that gangly awkwardness to the naked eye at present, but oozes physical maturation and has the tools to develop into baseball skills. Currently and OF/LHP that shows potential both ways, however being LH'ed and showing some advanced for his age tendencies on the mound right now, that is where I'm leaning. Touching 81 mph as a 14 year old with a flexible high kick to his delivery from a loose EZ HTQ arm slot. Features a up tempo delivery, that can be slowed down and controlled to a degree, to control his movement patterns more efficiently. The CB shows TQ tilt and shape, with the ability create spin and depth. The CH also shows some feel and is more of a choked circle-CH that fades coming out of a stiff wrist and has some turnover arm side run.
As a hitter, he is young and tall, which creates leverage to hit balls deep on intermediate and big fields at a young age, thus making it more difficult to judge and evaluate as it takes time to piece a bat together. But there is lift from a tad bit longer swing and has some sweep thru the zone with the barrel, which creates some pull tendencies. Right now for me, the pitching and being LH'ed is the leader in the clubhouse for me right now.
