This is the type of kid that any JUCO should take a flier on and see what they have with this kid. From a very small town, that plays 2A baseball which competes and makes the state tourney every year. This was the 1st time seeing Yardley, and based on his junior stats, swing, build and EZ effort strength with the bat, one has to question why his coaches didn't play him more, considering his .391 BA in 31 PA’s. This kid has a chance to be physical and has the look of a younger Hunter Pence type body, that could develop into a Captain America frame. The bat is what intriqued me. The hands in the setup are not ideal and look unnatural and not coached, but once he unloads the hands and knob into the plane of attack, the bat head and arc to the stroke are ideal, along with a smooth path and one hand finish to follow thru. The hand and bat speed maxes of 25.5 and 76 mph were above avg, while running a 6.99/60. The question now will be what kind of zone and plate recognition he has in games, and can he take the sound swing and strength and use it in games, to produce to his capabilities? One to follow for sure!
