A young body at 14 yrs old and just entering his freshman year of HS. Proportionately strong for his size and can drive the ball near the warning track now. Just needs to continue to grow and add size and strength to maximize his movement patterns. Offensively the setup is conventional w/an athletic look and feel. Loads and launches the barrel from a 45-degree angle and drives his hands/know to the ball well. The swing pattern is fluid and sound and has feel for the barrel. The ball jumps off at 87.4 w/the exit velo and on line. Because of his size and youth, most hitters this applies to, tend to want to go out w/their body and get the ball and jump. The tendency is to want to creat momentum forward to get something behind the swing to drive the baseball. Needs to work on staying back and just letting the movements of his body and swing work, and the ball will get the same
result off the bat, as he grows and adds strength. Defensively he shows some athletic actions to the lower 1/2 and moves side to side well, but lacks 1st step right now. The hands are out front and work from the ground up with a direct line to his intended target. The arm is in the low 70’s yet he uses his forearm and wrist to flip the baseball in a quality INF arm stroke. Like the actions and movement patterns on both sides of the ball, just needs time w/added strength and size to develop his skills.
