Positional Profile: OF The TCU commit was offered based on strong game play, oozing projections to his overall game and the bloodlines that come with the easy to projs athletic LH bat. Father Mike, I coached against as a catcher in the mid to late 90's at the U of Utah. Brother Parker Goff is the starting catcher at present as Junior at BYU. Cooper gets his season going next week and will be a key bat on a loaded team.
Body: 5-11, 160-pounds. A small frame with a lean athletic build and projects nicely to eventually be a 6-0 185-190 Lb corner OF. Looks the part of an immature body at his age and is ready to takeoff in the next one to two years.
Hit: LHH. An upright even prop stance with his bat in a positional setup to get to quality separation and shows balance in and throughout his quality stroke to hit High contact with minimal swing and miss. A low launch angle (11.5) with a flatter bat path, allows for high contact and the bat stays in the zone a long time. 70.9 mph bat speed with 12 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 97 max exit velocity, averaged 87.9 mph. 382' max distance. Flashes big boy power for a 5-11 160 Lb frame. The ball jumps off his bat with a 97 max EV and features quality Blast data for his age and shows data for a player much older and advanced. Speaks to his advance approach to his swing for a young 16 year old prospect.
Arm: RH. OF-77 mph. The arm is his lone tool that needs to come around and playing long toss and really getting after it in the gym will see his 77 mph arm jumped to the mid-80's within a yes's time potentially.
Defense: On par for where he should be at his age. Working on his routes and surrounding balls and getting into a quality position to throw, with a quick and accurate release, should minimize the running game as he gains added arm strength over the next year.
ATH: 7.12 runner in the 60. A 7.1/60 now that more than likely can get to 6.7-6.8 with a passion centered strength program. If he really gets after it in the gym, the leg and thigh strength should see his numbers really jump
Vizual Edge: 72.3 Edge Score
