An undersized catcher that needs to get bigger and stronger, however there’s some twitch to his movement patterns and the type of frame to add 20-25 Lbs of muscle within a year if he really gets after it. The catch and throw has some potential and he’s quick and fast from his catch to exchange and release. The 1.99-2.12 can even be better, as he cuts off his arm stroke at release with a wristy flip out front and with better extension and his back side coming through like an OF does, the throws will not only be on the bag, but carry the bag and could get another tenth of a second. Runs better than most catches and has an active live lower ½. The bat has potential even though his results as a sophomore starter in over 100 PA’s was subpar, this is mainly due to swing decisions and recognizing spin. The mechanics of the swing work and he has a semi-fast bat with recoil and fairly decent plane efficiency. The swing is short, quick and compact. Shows some violent intentions and mainly stays on a line through the gaps. With added weight, size and strength and better swing decisions, the bat may come on and surprise this year. Would like to see how he does this spring and reassess his development come summer
