The event leader in the Vald Performance Smart Plus Speed 10/30/60 at 1.64/3.81 and the overall 60 of 6.76. A twitchy lean athletic build in a very small package. Offensively he found the barrel at a 100% clip to sweet spot contact and sprayed LD’s hard on a line, though at a 87 mph clip. The on-line efficiency was one of the higher % marks of the event at a 94 max and 89% avg. The swing works and stays on the flight path of the baseball and he shouldn’t change the swing and keep his hands working in the fashion they do, however he does need to get stronger as he is not very big and this does impede his strength factor #’s to his hitting output. The lower ½ is a bit rigid and doesn’t really turn and get into his legs with the desired “L” shape to the back leg through contact. The core and overall strength need to make strides, yet with this lower ½ approach correction, the overall numbers should improve even though he is not physical. There is more to the overall swing mechanics, that he can gain significantly more power output at contact with this adjustment. The arm is well below and relegates him to the corner in LF. A twitchy lean small package with more power output with a mechanical lower ½ tweak, that should improve his overall game. Will keep an eye on his progress come spring.
