Alex Garvey 1B St. John’s College 2020
Strong physical frame at 6-foot-1, 180-pounds. Garvey starts with a square athletic stance from the right side. Small pick up and put down to stride, lands on line, and hands make small load back. Short to the ball, shows some quickness getting through the zone, and has a level path through the swing. Hits against a softer front side and could incorporate lower half more, but has some raw physical strength in the swing. Exit velocity was 89 mph. At first base Garvey worked well around the bag. Feet were active and had a little bounce to him. Soft hands at catch, short arm action, and displayed some arm speed from a three-quarter arm slot. Positional velocity was 75 mph.

6-foot-1, 180-pound strong frame. Wider athletic setup with a simple stride thats starts in line and stays there. Hands load smooth to separation, hands and barrel are quick through the zone with a slight uphill path. Showed ability to spray line drives around the field. Head stays behind the ball and finishes with some balance. Exit velo was 79 mph. Feet work well around the bag and showed an instinctiveness while making a variety of plays. Has a short quick arm action throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot at 72 mph. Ran a 60 time of 7.19.
